Certified was heavily involved with the reconstruction and expansion of this 2.53 mile corridor adjacent to I-465 on the east side of Indianapolis. Our efforts began with the topographic survey of the existing 5-lane corridor that passes through a combination of residential, retail and commercial districts.
The complex design expansion to a 7-lane roadway prepared by our engineers included new storm sewer, three legal drains, six signalized intersections with radio interconnect, sixteen retaining walls all within tight right-of-way restrictions and a vast network of existing underground utilities. The 4-phase maintenance of traffic plan allowed 4 lanes of traffic to remain open during construction. Our surveyors then returned on site to perform construction staking services.
